Sign Up Now for Summer Teacher Workshop
There are still a few openings for teachers in the summer workshop on marine debris, to be held Friday, June 25 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Weedon Island Preserve in St. Petersburg.
The workshop will feature classroom and field activities found in a teaching guide developed by the Centers for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence. The curriculum is designed for grades 5-9.
Participants will learn how marine debris harms wildlife; about different types of marine debris; and about local efforts to remove harmful debris such as fishing line and abandoned crab traps.
Participating teachers receive a $50 stipend and lots of FREE classroom resources. You must pre-register by contacting colleen@tbep.org or calling Colleen at (727) 893-2765. Hurry-- there are only a few slots left!
