Become a Land Ethic Leader!
The two-day training brings together citizens from across the United States to learn how to lead others in discussing individual and collective values and the critical environmental issues of our time. The training focuses on facilitating group discussions and the value of these discussion in helping people better understand and articulate their values. Participants will learn how they can pair discussion with outdoor observation exercises and work projects to engage their communities in new ways. They will also receive a public screening kit for the documentary film, Green Fire, and learn how they can use the film in their communities to reach out to new audiences. Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Aldo Leopold Foundation is proud to announce that 12 scholarships are available for students aged 16-21 to attend one of the sessions at the Leopold Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The deadline for the first session has passed (May 27th).
Apply by August 1st for session 2 (Aug. 25-26); awards announced Aug. 5, 2011

I really do hate to bring this up, but I've seen a trend in Master Naturalist and other events FMNP events. Many of us hold regular day jobs and can't make it to week day events. I can't afford to take off during the week either. Many (not all) of you events are weekday based. I wonder if you wouldn't increase your participant base if you started having events on the weekend. Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteThis posting is not an event through the FMNP. I just thought some folks might be interested. Most of the FMNP related activities directly generated at Camp Bayou are held on Saturdays.
