Volunteers Needed for Pre-Spill Litter Cleanup at Skyway Pier


The Ocean Conservancy needs volunteers to conduct a preventative cleanup at the South Skyway Bridge Rest Area on Sat., May 22 from 9 a.m.- noon.

Volunteers will remove litter and abandoned fishing line which could entangle birds. Bags, a snack, gloves and grabbers will be provided. Volunteers should bring sunscreen, a hat, a reusable water bottle and wear closed-toed shoes.

Directions to South Skyway Rest Area:

Take I-275 to the South Skyway
Get off at the rest area
Head west toward fishing pier
Look for Ocean Conservancy table on the west side of the shoreline
