CHELONIAN CONFERENCE IN FLORIDA
The Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA) and the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle
Specialist Group are pleased to announce a joint symposium.
When: 16-19 August 2010
Where: Orlando, Florida
This is the 8th annual conference hosted by the TSA, and has become the world’s largest gathering of tortoise and freshwater turtle biologists in the world. As the tradition continues, we are grateful for the generous support of our conference title sponsor, ZooMed. This promises to be a major international conference, with over 100 presentations. We have many special sessions arranged including:
Community Ecology of Turtles: Daren Riedle
Florida Turtles: Conservation Challenges and Opportunities: George Heinrich
Softshells: Peter Praschag
Survey Methods for Terrestrial Turtles/Tortoises with workshop on field tools (GPS, PDA, Burrow Cams, etc.) and Line Distance Sampling demo: Lora Smith and Jonathon Stober
