Coastal module offered at Camp Bayou

Registration is open for the Coastal module of the Florida Master Naturalist Program at Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center in Ruskin. Classes will be held during the month of April. The schedule is:
April 4, 8am-4pm- classroom presentations/Simmons trail
April 5, 9am-5pm, Boat trip to Egmont Key (open to spouses, friends for $40/person)
April 11, 8am-4pm- classroom presentations
April 19, 11am-5pm- salt flats/mangrove canoeing at Cockroach Bay preserve
April 25, 8am- 4pm- classroom presentations/ Simmons trail followup
April 26, 1-3pm- final projects

The Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is an adult education extension program developed by the University of Florida (UF) and provided by participating organizations such as Camp Bayou. FMNP training will benefit persons interested in learning more about Florida's environment, seeking educational contact hours, or wishing to increase their knowledge for use in education programs as volunteers, employees, and ecotourism guides. The mission of the Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is to promote awareness, understanding, and respect of Florida's natural world among Florida's citizens and visitors.

Camp Bayou is a partnership between the Ruskin Community Development Foundation, Inc. and Hillsborough County Parks , Recreation and Conservation. Camp Bayou is located 3 miles south of SR674 at the end of 24th St SE, in Ruskin. For directions and more information, visit http://www.campbayou.org.
