Position Available: Environmental Educator
Description:
This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in Florida! Our non-profit organization is situated on Crystal Springs Preserve and is Florida's Premier Living Laboratory. Join us as we facilitate top quality environmental education programs and participate in the resource management of a private 525 acre wildlife preserve.
Responsibilities:
· Teach hands on, directed learning science programs that immerse students of all ages in our habitats
  • Write new and innovative curriculum
  • Maintain equipment used in educational programs
  • Participate in the husbandry of reptiles animal ambassadors
  • Learn about grant program management
  • Use your technology skills and assist with Website maintenance
  • Represent Crystal Springs Foundation, Inc. at community and professional events
  • Take an active roll in natural resource management and facility maintenance
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree w/ science major
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Teaching experience/certification a plus
  • Qualified to pursue Life Guard & Red Cross CPR &First Aid certifications
  • Available to work 40 hours per week on a flex schedule
  • Confident, self motivated, out going and capable of team worker
Recommended Physical Requirements:
  • Physically fit, accustomed to working in an outdoor setting year around
  • Strong swimmer
  • Experienced w/canoes and kayaks
  • Capable of working on your feet and trail hiking daily
